I'm using knitting as a metaphor for telling a story, and dropping stitches for telling lies that make the story not add up.. then I might have a snake coming through the holes, and pulling the threads to expose the lies and ruin the knit and therefore the reputation of the storyteller as it all becomes a shambles.
